busy girl

Haha! That was a good day for me. I finished some stuff.

But first, on my last day at work they gave me a latch-hook kit. Whoho! I wanted to learn how to do this for sooo long. And when I got sick I started my pillow, which is 40cmx40cm. I hope I'll finish it before I die. It's so big!
I don't like the motif, it looks like it could come from my grandma's sofa. But hey, who cares. It was a present, and they know I love crafting a lot.

I've been in a swap. For this I crocheted a cute little granny square bag. I didn't finish it, it's up to the person who gets it.

Along with this I made a little lucky cent flower keychain:

This is just too lovely.

This was so easy and fun to make. And it makes such a cute gift. ^^ Maybe I’ll make a lot more of these.

During crocheting I found out that a cent seems to be bigger than a penny. So in rnd1 I made treble crochet sts instead of dc.

Aaaaaand today I found some camouflage beads I made a while ago from polymer clay. And today I made myself a bracelet, yay!

I can't tell how much I love it!
The small beads between have all different colors because I couldn't choose just one. Haha.

I like how heavvy it is.

And because it was my last day at work I made a lot of lucky charms for the big gals and guys in kindergarten.

These are the ones I made a while ago:

Destruction for crafting material

This morning I woke up to find that our mirror in the bathroom fell off for no reason. I was sad because the mirror was one of the first things be bought for this appartement.

But it isn't all bad, is it?
When Honey went to school I took a towel and a hammer. *hrhr* Wrapped up the mirror piweces in the towel and smaeshed them into a million tiny pieces.

And I ended up with a lot of mirror pieces in a million different sizes. I can use them for mosaics, glue them on paintings (wouldn't it be awesome, a face where eyes and mouth are mirrors?) or use them along with polymer clay.

How to add a glimmering effect to your paintings

You need:
- thick paper
- water colors
- salt

Here we go:

Wet the paper and color with paint.

Pour salt all over the sheet. Use a lot of it. ;o)

Drop more water on it.

Let it dry.
After that wipe off the salt and enjoy your glittering paper. ^^

Crocheted Star Flower

Here's the pattern for some easy flowers that look like stars.

You can use any leftover yarn.

Instructions:

Ch6, sl st in 1st ch to form a ring
Round 1: 15 sc in ring
Round 2: (1 sc in next sc, ch5, skip next sc, 1 sc in next sc) around
Round 3: *sl st in next sc, (in ch space: 2 sc, 1 hdc, make 1 dc, leaving 2 loops on hook, make 1 dc, leaving 3 loops on hook, make 1 dc, drawing thread through all remaining loops; ch 3, sl st in 1st ch, 1 hdc, 2 dc), sl st in next sc; repeat from * around
Cut off yarn, weave in all ends.

Here's a chart. Each round has a different color. Red stitches are the firsts of each round. Don't care about the grey circles, they aren't neccesary.

Creative Thoughts

Moved to my new appartement. It's not that easy to decorate your home when you like girly stuff and your love is a metalhead.
But I came up with a great idea. Do you know these lamps:

My thought was covering it with black paper and glueing chains on it. This would be awesome.

Furthermore I want to make some bath puff animals. Like sewing stuffed animals out of cleaning cloths and filling them with a sponge.

I made a wonderful wonderful bookmark. I could make more of them and sell them on DaWanda...

Fimo Fun

Today I got some Fimo, red and transparent green. I expeienced with Fimo a while ago, but I only made some ugly buttons in glittery lilac (still got that Fimo somewhere).
This time I made a rose, some calla-like flower, a cute tiny apple (I'll make apple pendants soon) and a bunch of weird buttons. But I'm retty satisfied.

My stash grows and grows

I moved to some kind of village in Saxony. That means, no stores where I can buy wool. Oh noez! But I found a newspaper kiosk that got lots of crafting magazines. And I bought this one.
Later I went to the market and, I sent a thank you to God, saw a market stand that sold wool, tons of wool!
Though I have no money (as usual) I bought 5 skeins. 400g of black and 200g of this.
Yesterday I started knitting a dress. You can see it here. It's the pic that say "Trendy Tirolerhut".
It'll take a lot of time. *sigh*

Captain Psychedelic Pattern

I got the pattern from the book "Puppen und Tiere selbstgemacht". The original pattern was for a skipper.

I got this psychedelic coloured acrylic yarn I wanted to use. I don't know what came to my mind, but I ended up knitting this skipper in a 70's version. Somebody said all he needs now is a joint. *g*

I hope you understand this pattern. It's pretty hard for me to write a pattern in a foreign language.
If you have any problems or questions feel free to contact me!

You need:

- worsted weight yarn in "psychedelic", white, light blue and black
- fiber fill
- four buttons for the vest (I used buttons with flowers on them)
- two buttons for the eyes
- six plastic flowers

Here we go:

Leg: (make two)
Cast on 24 sts in white and knit for 5in in stockinette stitch. Change to blue and work for another 15in. Leave sts on holder.
Work 2nd leg.

Body:
Continue with both legs like this:

Still working st st knit for 25in.
For the head change yarn to white and work in st st for 8 rows. Change to blue and knit for 2 rows. Then work a rib in "psychedelic" in garter stitch (row 1: k; row2: k).
Change to blue again and work in st st until the Captain measures 62,5in.
Cast off.

Arms:
Cast on 12 sts in white and work for 5 rows in st st.
For the left arm change to blue and work for 29in.
For the left arm continue with "psychedelic" for 2 rows in st st, then 2 rows in garter stitch in blue, 2 rows st st in "psychedelic", 2 rows garter stitch in blue, 2 rows "psychedelic" in st st, the last time 2 rows in blue and garter stitch. Yay. Continue in "psychedelic" until the arm measures 29in.
Sew arms together and fill.

Sewing together:
Fold the Captain so the steam is in the middle of his back. Close his legs. And don't forget to fill it. ^^ Stitch down legs and Head.

Decoration:

Sew buttons for the eyes on his face and embroider mouth with black. Add some rouge for the cheeks.
Make a big pompom with psychedelic yarn and sew to his head.

Using blue embroider the neck like this:

Sew vest bottoms to the body.
Sew three plastc flowers on his left leg, one on his right arm and two in the left corner of his hat.

Finished!

Ordered books

My ordered books came today: Mr: Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful and Kooky Crochet. I'm a bit disappointed by Mr. Funky. It's not what I expected it to be. I mean, the book is okay, but I don't like the patterns that much. Well... But Kooky Crochet is awesome!

I'm soooo bored. I got a lot of new patterns on my laptop. I think I'll crochet socks next... I absolutely hate knitting them. Always takes a shitload of time.
